#IB Summer School @ SAP

Fakultät International Business – Alles für Ihren Erfolg

This June, our Summer School students had the pleasure of visiting  SAP in Walldorf. They met with Sabrina Dick, Head of HRBP and Diversity Office EMEA, who graduated from our faculty in 2006, and Dr.-Ing. Elmar Dorner from the SAP Research Group.  Dr. Dorner gave a presentation about the work of the SAP Innovation Center Network and talked about SAP´s collaboration with customers, universities and startup companies. Sabrina Dick talked about her career at SAP and how easy it is to change positions within the company. She stressed the unique and open culture at SAP and how much fun it is to work for such an innovative company.

Following the presentations, the students visited the next-generation SAP Inspiration Pavilion to get more information about the history of SAP and to get a taste of the potential of Big Data. This was an exciting exhibition that showed the various aspects of Big Data and the students were deeply impressed by the amount of data that surrounds and affects our daily lives and the possibilities they offer.

Before they enjoyed a delicious lunch at the SAP´s canteen, they had a look at „The Developers Workshop”. This is a global program that wants to bring the Internet of Things technologies closer to all visitors. The idea is to get people in touch with technologies like ArduinoRaspberry Pi and BeagleBone, as well as 3D printers, wearable devices, augmented reality and virtual reality devices, robotics and sensor networks.
